SIGMA 30MM F/1.4 DC DN CONTEMPORARY OVERVIEW

This 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens from Sigma is a quick, functional prime intended for use with Sony E mount mirrorless cameras. Working in low light is made easier by the bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, which also provides significant depth of field adjustment for selective focus techniques. Two aspherical elements and one high-refractive-index element are used in the optical design, which greatly reduces spherical aberrations and distortion for improved clarity and definition and noticeably sharp image quality. Additionally, a Super Multi-Layer Coating has been used to reduce lens flare and ghosting under bright lighting. This tiny prime also includes a stepping AF motor for smooth, nearly silent focusing operation, which is advantageous for both stills shooting and video recording. APS-C format Sony mount mirrorless cameras can use a normal-length prime lens that offers a 45mm equivalent focal length.

Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture performs well in dim lighting and also provides greater depth of field flexibility for creating selective focus effects.
To reduce distortion and spherical aberrations as well as increase overall sharpness and accurate rendering, three aspherical elements and one high-refractive index element are used.
