NIKON Z9
OVERVIEW
The
Nikon Z9 is a professional-grade camera that offers connectivity, speed, and
high-quality images. It is distinguished by its newly designed sensor, enhanced
AF performance, and high-resolution 8K video recording. The Z9 is a camera that
appeals to photographers and filmmakers that operate in a wide range of
applications and is their first mirrorless flagship model.
45.7MP
Stacked BSI CMOS Sensor
The
newly created FX-format 45.7MP BSI stacked CMOS sensor is the core of the Z9.
When working at higher sensitivities, its stacked construction adds to
remarkable clarity and little noise, while the BSI design helps to prevent
rolling shutter and delivers quick readout speeds. It is also a high-resolution
chip at 45.7MP, which is advantageous for landscape, portrait, and other
detail-oriented genres and allows for the capture of video at resolutions up to
8K. Additionally, the full-frame BSI design is renowned for its superb color
and detail reproduction, and this sensor has a native ISO range of 64–25600
that can be expanded to ISO 32–102400.
EXPEED 7 Image Processor
A powerful processing engine, the EXPEED 7, that provides speeds around ten times faster
than a Z 7II, complements the sensor. A high buffer capacity, fluid video
performance, astonishingly quick AF speeds, burst shooting rates, and snappy
all-around handling are made possible by this engine in combination with the
stacked sensor design.
Electronic
Shutter-Only Design
The
Z9 totally does away with a mechanical shutter and employs only an electronic
shutter for all capture modes, relying on the speed and stacking construction
of the sensor. The stacked structure minimizes motion distortion enabling
accurate representation of fast-moving things, such as golf clubs, baseball
bats, and cars, while the speed of the sensor allows recording at up to
1/32,000 sec. In addition, high-speed sync operations and flash synchronization
up to 1/200 sec. are still supported despite the lack of a mechanical shutter.
493-Point
Phase-Detection AF
The
Z9's 493-point phase-detection AF system utilizes the entire sensor area to
achieve quick and precise focusing performance. This system benefits from the Z
interface's high-speed communication and the sensor's speed, which allow AF
readings to happen at up to 120 frames per second. With a Starlight mode that
allows focusing down to -8.5 EV, this focusing system also supports operating
in low light, which is extremely advantageous for astrophotography, concerts,
and other night-time shooting applications.
